FAQ
-
You’ve probably heard of Pivot Table. Power Pivot is like Pivot Table, but way more powerful. With Power Pivot, you can:
Import data from multiple sources;
Relate them simply using drag-and-drop;
Write efficient and flexible metrics that
Work delightfully well with slicers for on-the-fly slice-and-dice; and
Analyse virtually unlimited rows of data.
You’ll be able to generate models and reports that can dynamically update to offer answers to ever-changing questions and perspectives. It is also a major time-saver when you explore and analyse your data to tease out crucial business insights.

Think of Power Pivot as a tool within a toolbox. The toolbox itself is Power BI, which has other tools (such as Power Query and visualization) for other data tasks.
Power Pivot is also available as a free add-in in Excel.
Check out our blog for a more in-depth understanding on Power Query, Power Pivot, DAX, and Power BI.

While this course will be conducted primarily in Excel, what you learn can be similarly applied to Power BI.
You will require a laptop with compatible Microsoft Excel versions that contain Power Query. Since 2016, Power Query is integrated into Excel as “Get and Transform” within the Data tab.
